Helping Women Embrace & Express Their Personal Style for Over 32 Years

After graduating from the Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT) in NYC, I worked in a variety of clothing stores in Ohio (my home state), New York, and Vermont.  From these experiences, I recognized a need for a women’s boutique specializing in personalized service that would provide customers with a warm, nurturing shopping environment.  My goal was to help women embrace and express their personal style.

I opened Expressions in 1979 on Main Street in Burlington, VT across from the original Ben & Jerry’s.  At that time, I offered an alternative shopping experience to the traditional Vermont scene.

After the opening of the University Mall, Burlington Square Mall and Winooski Mill (1980-1982) the shopping atmosphere in the Greater Burlington area transformed dramatically and Expressions evolved to match the changing times.  With the advent of the pedestrian mall on Church Street, I moved the store to its current location between College and Bank Streets.

Through the years, Expressions has continued to evolve, translating fashion trends while staying true to my goal of offering a personalized shopping experience that’s both professional and fun.

After all these years, I still love what I do.  Come and see why.
